My Beloved

I searched for my beloved
Through the fog and mists of time
Ever seeking, ever knocking
Ever asking as I climb

Have you smelt my beloved?
Caught his scent upon the air
Sweet fragrance, divine worship
Wafting of my voice in prayer

Have you heard my beloved?
Hear his voice my soul awakes
From slumber of my senses
For Reality I ache

Have you seen my beloved?
Caught a glimpse of life divine
Lead me from this dark delusion
To the light of wisdom’s shrine

Have you touched my beloved?
Walking on this path to meet
Falling prostrate, taking refuge
At his holy lotus feet

Have you tasted my beloved?
Taste and see the Lord is good
The sweetness of Ananda
Is for everyone who would

Lift your mind to that plane
Where no heaviness bogs down
Where no darkness dims light
Where only bliss abounds

Lord make our thoughts one pointed
Inner depths to penetrate
So deep and unwavering
Perceiving thee we meditate

See that mark deep within
Draw back the bow called AUM
Launch the Atman arrow
Merge with Brahman your true home
